Event Policy

NAEMA’s conferences and events are presented in accordance with our Mission to promote a vibrant energy marketplace for our members by providing a forum for members to share ideas, build relationships, and promote timely discussion of key trends and issues. To that end, we require all attendees to ensure a safe, respectful and positive experience by conducting themselves in a professional manner at all times.

Unacceptable behavior (actions, words or physical gestures that could reasonably be perceived to be harassment or the cause of another person’s distress or discomfort) from any attendee will not be tolerated. If an attendee engages in unacceptable behavior, NAEMA may take any action it deems appropriate depending on the circumstances, including issuing warnings, expelling the offender from the conference with no refund, and prohibiting attendance at future events. The incident may also be reported to the attendee’s employer. To support these efforts, please bring any concerns to the immediate attention of NAEMA Staff by contacting Tim Berrigan, Executive Director, or Fay Edwards, Conference Director.

By registering to participate in any NAEMA event, including but not limited to any social activities or other similar events that may be associated therewith (hereinafter, the “Event”), the registrant must hereby agree and acknowledge that participation in the Event is voluntary and of their own accord. They must be fully aware that possible physical injury might occur as a result of their participation in the Event, and they must agree to assume the full risk of any injuries (including death), damages or loss, regardless of severity, that they may sustain as a result of such participation.

In consideration of the right to participate in the Event, they hereby waive and forever release any and all rights and claims for any damages and liabilities of any kind arising out of their participation in the Event against NAEMA and shall otherwise hold NAEMA harmless against any such damages or liabilities.
